Jensen at home at Heads

Barwon Heads recruit Mitch Jensen says a club function last year was enough to convince him that his football future lie at Howard Harmer Oval.

Jensen, who starred with five goals in the Headers’ 81-point hiding of reigning premier Anglesea, joined the club after a season with Wedderburn in the North Central league, where he kicked 61 majors in 13 games.

A member of Footscray’s 2016 VFL premiership, Jensen’s brother is former Essendon player and current Bombers president Andrew Welsh.

“My brother sponsors down here and (I) and came to a function last year, and all it took was one night and I loved it,” he said.

“So I ended up down here, and I’m not looking back, that’s for sure.
