Anglesea is planning for a quick return to Bellarine finals action if its first two signings are anything to go by.
The 2025 premier has followed up the addition of North Central star Rylee Smith by confirming the speculated return of 2023 Team of the Year member Dyl Pettingill.
Pettingill last played with the Roos when they ended a 25-year grand final drought in 2024. He’s spent the past two seasons playing in the Perth Football League with Quinns District and West Coast.
“Dylan has become a huge part of our club and our community, and anyone who watched him play this season knows exactly how exciting it is to see him recommit to the Roos,” a statement on social media said.
During his three-year stint at Ellimatta Reserve, Pettingill kicked 107 goals across 33 games, including 51 goals in 12 appearances in 2023.
Several GFNL clubs chased Smith, including runner-up South Barwon, where former Nullawil teammate Paddy Kelly has spent the past three years.
Smith most recently played with Calder United – a merger of Nullawil and Wycheproof ahead of the 2025 season – winning the best-and-fairest this year.
He’s also won a best-and-fairest at Kerang, been selected in teams of the year in the Golden Rivers, Central Murray, and North Central leagues, and featured in premierships with Kerang, Nullawil and Calder United.
