The Anzac Day clash between reigning Bellarine grand finalists Anglesea and Torquay will be played the following day.

The Roos and Tigers have agreed to push the mouth-watering Ellimatta Reserve match-up back 24 hours to Saturday, April 26.

K rock Football understands the strain on volunteer resources – with many people involved at both clubs also having hands-on involvement with their town’s Anzac Day services – was behind the decision to return to the Saturday.

However, it may not leave the traditional clash between Drysdale and Portarlington as the only Anzac Day meeting in the BFNL.

Despite having its request to play on April 25 denied in the original fixture, Newcomb is still in discussions to have its meeting with Ocean Grove played on the day as part of weekend-long 50th-year celebrations for the Power.

Meanwhile, the GFNL Opening Round clash between Newtown & Chilwell and St Joseph’s will bounce at 1:40pm.

The Battle for Autumn Street will be broadcast on krockfootball.live.
