Torquay star Luke Mahony is free to play in Saturday’s BFNL preliminary final after accepting a reprimand for an incident in last weekend’s second semi-final loss to Anglesea.

Mahony received a yellow card during the final quarter of the Tigers’ seven-point loss at Portarlington’s Ron Evans Oval for making high contact with young Roo Will Batson.

AFL Barwon’s Match Review Panel assessed the incident as careless conduct, low impact, and high contact, drawing a one-match suspension.

An early guilty plea has reduced the sanction to a reprimand, and Mahony will be available for the meeting with Drysdale at Leopold Memorial Park.

In the GFNL, Newtown & Chilwell big man Alex Pocock will head to the tribunal tomorrow night to challenge a two-week suspension.

Pocock was cited for making high contact with South Barwon midfielder Lachie Noble during the final term of the Eagles’ loss at McDonald Reserve.

The MRP assessed the incident as intentional conduct, low impact, and high contact, with Pocock rejecting a one-week suspension with an early guilty plea.

Two incidents from St Joseph’s 189-point result against Lara were scrutinised by the MRP.
