Four days out from its qualifying meeting with East Geelong, GDFNL club Werribee Centrals has confirmed the re-signing of coach Rhyce Prismall.
Prismall arrived at Galvin Park to share the coaching role with Nick Smith in late 2019 but didn’t get a chance to lead the club until 2021 after the 2020 season was lost to the Covid pandemic.
He’s held the role solo since 2024.
Prismall retired from an impressive playing career at the end of last year.
Centrals started the 2026 season with 11 consecutive wins. However, four losses in the final seven rounds, including to East Geelong on the last day of the home-and-away season, cost them their first minor premiership since 2010.
Instead, they’ll face the Eagles, with the winner earning a crack at Winchelsea in the second semi-final.
Prismall’s re-signing leaves Bannockburn and Geelong West as the two clubs confirmed as hunting for new coaches.
However, there is speculation that premiership coach Paul Lynch won’t continue in the role in 2027, leaving a vacancy at Godfrey Street.
