The inclusion of former Geelong rookie Osca Riccardi and his Cats VFL training partner brother Boston highlights the Geelong and District league’s 43-strong squad for next month’s interleague clash.
The Raiders will face Colac and District for the Hickey-Whitley Shield in a 25-and-under format, with the match to again be played at Winchelsea’s Eastern Reserve.
However, unlike last year, the match has been brought forward from the King’s Birthday public holiday to Saturday, June 6.
The Riccardis are among five players selected from the reigning premier.
Thomson, East Geelong, and Bannockburn also have five players in the squad. Winchelsea is the best-represented club with six players selected, including brothers Fin and Indi Parish.
Of the 24 that defeated the CDFNL by seven points in 2025, 15 are in the squad, including Corio dynamo Herschelle Carr, who kicked five goals last year.
Thomson’s Paul Lynch will again lead the GDFNL, with current North Geelong co-coach Peter Riccardi among his assistants.
