Thomson captain Jordan Camm has been heavily favoured to claim the Neville Whitley Medal as GDFNL best-and-fairest when votes are counted on Wednesday night.
Six coaches have backed Camm, while East Geelong captain John McIntyre, who finished runner-up in 2024 and sixth last year, has the support of three coaches.
Camm had a standout season playing as ruck/forward for the Tigers, kicking 58 goals in a team that won just four matches.
Bell Post Hill coach Ash Witney has backed Panthers captain Jack Yates to repeat last year’s success.
No one has claimed consecutive Whitley medals since Clayton Trotter went back-to-back in 2001-02.
The midfield great’s first win was with Anakie, before doing it again with Inverleigh when it re-entered the competition the following year.
Among others that coaches expect to poll well are Bannockburn ruck Rhys Ginn, Inverleigh veteran Adam Donohue and Anakie ball magnet Josh Mawson.
Whitley Medal night will also feature the counting of votes for the reserve-grade best-and-fairest, the Ivan Tansing Medal, and the announcement of the team of the year and the rookie of the year.
