Thomson has booked a berth in the GDFNL preliminary final after a comprehensive 60-point win over Werribee Centrals in the first semi-final at St Albans Reserve, 12.18 (90) to 3.12 (30).
After overcoming Bannockburn in last week’s elimination final, the Tigers were held scoreless in the opening quarter by the Centurions.
However, a 3.8 to 0.3 second quarter gave Thomson a 12-point half-time lead.
Centrals cut that margin to nine points at three-quarter time before the Tigers produced a stunning seven-goal final term to setup a “Battle of the Roundabout” preliminary final against East Geelong.
