Geelong veteran Mark Blicavs will miss at least Saturday’s clash with North Melbourne after undergoing scans on a knee injury suffered in last week’s loss to Port Adelaide.
The 35-year-old was forced from Adelaide Oval during the first quarter after receiving contact to his left knee while attempting to kick the ball.
He was spotted in a brace at training on Tuesday.
Cats football boss Andrew Mackie remains hopeful the 300-gamer won’t miss too many matches.
“Mark had scans this week, which confirmed an injury to the lateral ligament of his left knee,” Mackie said.
“He will be off legs this week, and once he starts running, we will have a better indication of his return to play timeline, which we expect to still be in the short term.”
Despite appearing to move well at training, Gryan Miers won’t play against the Roos.
Geelong has listed the creative small forward as being 1-3 weeks away from a return.
