Geelong could field as many as 15 AFL-listed players in Sunday’s VFL preliminary final clash with Port Melbourne at GMHBA Stadium.
The Cats have named AFL semi-final emergencies Sam De Koning, Jhye Clark and Jack Martin, while veteran ruck Rhys Stanley returns from a knee injury.
They replace VFL-listed quartet Will White, Darcy Edmends, Kobe George and Tom Peirce.
White suffered a season-ending lower leg injury in the qualifying final win over Tasmania, with Edmends, George and Pierce among eight emergencies.
Geelong’s team is expected to change depending on the outcome of tonight’s AFL meeting with Fremantle at Optus Stadium.
The Cats are chasing their first grand final berth since 2013, with their most recent premiership coming the year before, with victory over Port Melbourne.
The Borough’s line-up for Sunday includes St Mary’s pair Michael Rudd and Fletcher Hughes. St Joseph’s star Mal White is among the emergencies.
