Geelong looks set to welcome back Gryan Miers, Mark Blicavs and Jack Henry for Thursday night’s meeting with grand final conqueror Brisbane.

Coach Chris Scott indicated all three were a chance to return for the Gabba clash at his Tuesday media conference.

“We need to just double-check that everything’s OK, but the signs are good,” he said. “They’ll definitely be in our squad.

“We’re on the road tomorrow. Unless something happens between now and when the plane leaves, they’ll be on it.”

Miers got through three quarters of Geelong’s VFL win over Collingwood unscathed in his first appearance since scans found a partial tear in his anterior cruciate ligament after the Gather Round over West Coast.

Henry and Blicavs missed the wins over North Melbourne and Collingwood, respectively.

Henry has been battling a foot soreness, while Blicavs suffered a knee injury in the loss to Port Adelaide on Anzac Day.

Geelong also has a decision to make on its ruck set-up to take on former Cat Darcy Fort and ex-Essendon big Sam Draper.

Veteran Rhys Stanley was solid in his first AFL appearance of 2026 while the Cats managed Mitch Edwards.

“We’re still thinking about that,” Scott said. “We’re really happy with Rhys, but we’ve been really happy with Mitch as well.

“You might be sick of me saying this over and over again, we are a bit more horses for courses.

“We don’t think about what our best team is in any one week. It’s more of a reflection of… balancing a lot of different priorities.

“I think I said last week that it was likely we were a bit too conservative with Mitch Edwards.

“But when you win the game and come away having managed a guy like that, you feel vindicated to some extent.

“We’ve got some availability and guys we’d be happy to have in the team. Which way we go, we haven’t quite settled on just yet.”

Meanwhile, Jhye Clark has entered the AFL’s concussion protocol after an incident at training last week.

It’s understood he had a head clash with Oisin Mullin, his third concussion in just over 12 months.
