No.31 has been snapped up by draft bolter Francis Evans. Worn in recent years by Jordan Cunico, the only 100-gamers to have carried the number for the Cats are David Mensch and Roy West.

Cam Taheny will wear the No.41 held for the past three years by Jamaine Jones. Josh Hunt played his first 61 games for Geelong in the number before moving to No.8.

Brad Close has been allocated the No.45 made vacant by Ryan Abbott’s departure to St Kilda. The number was made famous at the Cats by premiership captain Cameron Ling in his 246-game career.

Recruits Jack Steven and Josh Jenkins will wear Nos. 9 and 11 respectively that were previously worn by Zac Smith (Gold Coast) and Tim Kelly (West Coast)
