Police have gatecrashed a state government event in Werribee, which saw the police helicopter fly overhead.
Acting Premier Ben Carroll was at a childcare centre in Wyndham Vale on Tuesday, to announced every Prep student in Victoria will receive a free Prep Bag.
However officers turned up outside the centre in marked vehicles as they continue their fight for better pay and conditions.
Mr Carroll said the government supported the ongoing pay negotiations.
“We are committed to giving our police every resource, including a pay rise,” he said.
Meantime, there are reports police command could face a vote of no confidence by members.
Police and the police union will be back at the Fair Work Commission this week, with the union wanting a 24 per cent pay increase over four years.
