Modewarre legend Josh Finch will remain as coach of the club in 2027.
Finch, who retired after a club record 336 games last year, is in the first season of his second stint in charge of the Warriors after replacing Mark Hovey at the end of last year.
The four-time Les Ash medallist, as BFNL best-and-fairest, previously led Modewarre as a playing coach from 2016-19, delivering the club its first Bellarine senior premiership alongside good mate John Meesen in 2018.
“His standards, work ethic, football IQ and understanding of his playing group is unparalleled,” a statement on Modewarre’s Facebook page said.
“We have all the confidence in Josh to lead us once again into 2027, and we couldn’t be happier.”
Modewarre has struggled for consistency in 2026.
The Warriors sit in ninth position having won four games, beating 10th-placed Ocean Grove and league newcomer Surf Coast in both meetings.
Meanwhile, Ocean Grove has officially commenced the search for a replacement for outgoing co-coaches Dave Farrell and Nick Bourke.
The Grubbers announced last week they wouldn’t be renewing the duo’s contract.
