Geelong gun Jeremy Cameron will return to main training this week as he closes in on a return from the shoulder injury that has sidelined him for a month.
Cameron is listed as being 1-2 weeks away, which has him in the frame for a potential return against Richmond in Round 24.
Max Holmes is now 3-6 weeks away as he continues to recover from syndesmosis surgery.
Meanwhile, Geelong has confirmed in recent minutes that defender Jake Kolodjashnij, who has been at the centre of the concussion saga, won’t play at AFL or VFL level this weekend.
Ahead of its AFLW season opener against North Melbourne, Geelong has two players it can’t consider for selection, with Port Adelaide recruit Alissa Brook and Irish gun Kate Kenny both recovering from foot issues.
However, forgotten forward Chloe Scheer is a chance to play her first AFL match since the 2023 preliminary final after featuring in last week’s match simulation against Carlton.
“Chloe will continue to be assessed this week in the lead-up to Saturday’s game,” the Cats said in a statement.
