CAT ATTACK PODCAST – JULY 13

Geelong has locked away ruck revelation Mitch Edwards until the end of 2030, while also extending uncapped quartet Jay Polkinghorne, Lenny Hofmann, Cillian Burke and Nick Driscoll into next year.

Edwards, who has played 13 games after making his debut in the Round 1 win over Fremantle, was already signed until the end of 2028.

“Mitch has shown real growth since arriving at the club,” Cats football boss Andrew Mackie said.

“He has all the right attributes and temperament to continue developing, and we’re excited to see him continue to build his game.”

Polkinghorne and Hofmann joined Geelong via the 2024 National Draft, while Burke arrived as a Category B rookie from Ireland the same year, and Driscoll was the final addition to the Cats’ list with their final pick in last year’s Rookie Draft.

“Jay, Lenny, Cillian and Nick have all made strong contributions at VFL level this season,” Mackie said.

“They are exciting young players who have all shown a strong willingness to learn, and we’re pleased to have them continue to develop at the Cats in 2027.”
