CAT ATTACK PODCAST – AUGUST 12
Geelong will unveil draftees Evie Cowcher and Priya Bowering and Irish recruit Emma Murray in Saturday’s AFLW Round 1 clash with North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium.
Cats coach Mick Stinear hinted yesterday (Wednesday) that Cowcher and Bowering were under consideration.
“Evie’s brought us some good intercepting strength down back, really calm and composed and a fierce competitor,” he said.
“And Priya’s actually shown a lot forward as well.”
Cowcher was Geelong’s first pick (11th overall) from West Australian club Peel Thunder.
An All-Australian at under-16 and under-18 level, the 19-year-old also won WA’s MVP award in both age groups.
Bowering was taken with the Cats’ second pick (27th overall) from the Tasmania Devils.
Murray’s Gaelic Football resume includes captaining Waterford and winning the 2025 All-Star award.
Geelong’s full team will be released at 6:20pm.
