Geelong has signed five players to contract extensions, including former first-round draft pick Jhye Clark.
The 22-year-old, who was languishing in the VFL midseason, has been rewarded for his recent solid form across half-back with a two-year contract.
“Jhye has worked hard at his craft and has come back into the AFL side and having a strong impact,” Cats football boss Andrew Mackie said.
“We’re excited about what lies ahead for him and his development over the next two years.”
Geelong has also extended the current deal of star forward Jeremy Cameron for a further year until the end of 2028, while veteran Jack Martin and rookie pair Jesse Mellor and Joe Pike have been contracted until the end of next year.
“Jeremy’s impact on the club goes beyond what he produces on game day,” Mackie said.
“He remains an important player for us, and we’re thrilled he’ll continue to play an integral role through the extension of his contract.
“Jack has made a strong contribution since joining the club, and it’s great to have him continue his career with the Cats into next season.
“We are pleased Jesse and Joe will continue at the Cats in 2027.
“Both have been consistent performers in the VFL, and we see plenty of growth ahead for each of them.”
The re-signings leave premiership quartet Rhys Stanley, Jake Kolodjashnij, Jed Bews and Mark Blicavs, along with Mitch Knevitt, Jack Bowes, George Stevens, Jacob Molier and Keighton Matofai Forbes, without deals for next year.
