Geelong’s list for 2027 has taken further shape, with confirmation of contract extensions for Irishman Mark O’Connor and livewire forward Oli Wiltshire.

O’Connor will remain in the Hoops until at least the end of 2028, while Wiltshire has signed for next year.

Ten years into his AFL career, O’Connor has played 159 matches – the fifth most by an Irishman.

All going to plan, the 2022 premiership player should become only the third player from the Emerald Isle to reach the 200-game milestone.

“Mark’s been an important player for us for a long time now; he consistently plays the roles required of him and brings experience that sets a strong example for the group,” football boss Andrew Mackie said.

Wiltshire, who revealed his re-signing on K rock Football on June 13, joined the Cats with pick 61 in the 2023 National Draft.

He’s played nine games since debuting last year, kicking a career-high three goals in the win over Gold Coast and two more against Fremantle last round.

“Oli’s development has been really pleasing, he’s shown what he can do at AFL level, and we’re looking forward to seeing him continue to grow at the club,” Mackie said.

The re-signing of O’Connor and Wiltshire leaves 15 Cats without a confirmed deal for next year, including captain Patrick Dangerfield, veteran defender Jake Kolodjashnij, and first-round draft pick Jhye Clark.
