Greene makes Cats call

GWS Giants captain Toby Greene has made public his intention to join Geelong.

The GWS Giants released a two-paragraph statement this (Thursday) morning.

“The Giants have been advised by Toby Greene of his intention to move back to Victoria for family reasons with a view to join the Geelong Football Club,” the statement said.

“The club will make no further comment at this stage and will work with Toby and his manager regarding his availability to media.”

An inaugural Giant, who was taken with pick 11 in the 2011 National Draft, Greene has played 282 matches since debuting in 2012.

The 32-year-old – he turns 33 next Friday- is a two-time Giants best-and-fairest winner, four-time leading goalkicker, and three-time All-Australian.

Greene has captained the Giants since 2022.
