TOM Hawkins is free to play in Geelong’s clash with Richmond at the MCG on Friday night after being fined for striking Sydney’s Jordan Dawson in Saturday night’s win at GMHBA Stadium.
Match Review Officer Michael Christian assessed the final quarter incident, which drew a 50m penalty at the time, as careless conduct, high contact and low impact.
Hawkins will have to cough up $3000 for his second striking offence if he takes the early guilty plea.
Hawthorn’s James Sicily, Western Bulldog Aaron Naughton and Collingwood’s Adam Treloar have also been fined for striking.
Sicily and Naughton have been fined $2000 each, while Treloar will be $1500 lighter in the pocket.
Match-day reports against Fremantle’s Ethan Hughes and Gold Coast captain David Swallow were withdrawn.
