Max Holmes has returned to running just a month after the two-time Geelong best-and-fairest had surgery on a syndesmosis injury.
The Cats speedster is now listed as 2-4 weeks away from a return to play.
At best, it’s the first week of September, when Geelong is likely to feature in an elimination final. At worst, it would be a preliminary final if the Cats progress that far.
Midfielder James Worpel is on a similar timeframe after suffering a hamstring injury in the win over North Melbourne.
However, forward Oli Wiltshire’s has avoided any serious damage to his foot and is a test to play Richmond at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday night.
As reported earlier today, Jeremy Cameron (AC joint) and Sam De Koning (knee) are both expected to take on the Tigers.
Geelong says Jake Kolodjashnij is unavailable for AFL selection. He is eligible to play in Geelong’s VFL qualifying final against Tasmania next week.
