“In my head, I’m not done for the year” – Holmes

Geelong star Max Holmes is refusing to give up hope on playing again in 2026 following surgery on a syndesmosis injury suffered in last Thursday’s win over St Kilda.

The two-time reigning Carji Greeves Medal winner, who also suffered a fractured fibula, went under the knife in Brisbane last Friday.

Holmes told K rock’s Tom & Loggy there is no timeline for a return yet.

“I don’t know because it’s a little bit of a… it’s kind of one that could go really well and be a bit quicker, or it can take a while just because of the soreness,” he said.”

“So I’m actually not sure. But, in my head, I’m not done for the year.”
