Only days after being told his time at Geelong was up, George Stevens has claimed another individual honour.
The ball-winning midfielder, who shared the Liston Trophy earlier this month as VFL best-and-fairest, has also taken out the Cats’ VFL award.
He polled 148 votes to finish 16 clear of Mitch Knevitt on 132.
Highly-rated AFL-listed defender Lenny Hoffman finished third on 124 votes, Irisman Cillian Burke was fourth on 121, with delisted veteran Jed Bews and rookie ruck Joe Pike sharing fifth spot on 119.
The Little Vic Award, named in memory of long-serving club volunteer Vic Fuller, was presented to Lachie Weidemann as the best first-year player.
Meanwhile, South Barwon product Lucy Marescuk has scored a comfortable victory in Geelong’s VFLW best-and-fairest.
She polled 169 votes, 73 clear of Mekah Morrissy on 96.
Annie Lee, who joined the Cats’ AFLW squad on the eve of the current season, finished third on 84 votes, with leading goalkicker Nikita Harris (73) and Axel Oswald (62) rounding out the top five.
Brooke Borchard was named the recipient of the values-based Hoops Award..
