GEELONG has welcomed back experienced forward Maddie Boyd for Saturday’s massive clash with Fremantle at GMHBA Stadium.
Boyd, who missed the win over Brisbane due to suspension, replaces Georgia Clarke.
“Maddie was fantastic before her unfortunate suspension, so she comes straight back into the team,” coach Paul Hood said.
“She has been a real force for us up forward, seven marks I think against Carlton.
“If she can come back and reproduce that then she is going to go a long way to helping us perform.”
Hood says Clarke was stiff to lose her place after a solid performance against the Lions.
“She actually played quite well last weekend,” Hood said.
“It just shows things can turn really quickly in footy. We are travelling with really good depth at the moment.
“It’s unfortunate for ‘GC’ as a young player, but she will be back sooner or later, and I’m sure she will be really good when she comes back.”
