A parliamentary inquiry into Victoria’s ambulance service will be held after the opposition received the support of the crossbench.
As many as 14 ambulances were ramped at University Hospital Geelong earlier this week.
The Ambulance Union says more than 20 were also at the hospital last Friday.
The opposition put forward the motion to establish the inquiry into the performance, workplace culture and procurement practices of Ambulance Victoria.
It says ambulance response times have mised their targets for several years under Labor, while calls have also faced delays in being answered.
The Victorian Ambulance Union is continuing its fight for better pay and conditions for paramedics.
It says members are working forced overtime every day.
