Draftee Renee Morgan has been named to make her AFLW debut, with Geelong making at least four changes for Sunday’s clash with Essendon at GMHBA Stadium.
West Australian Morgan, who joined the Cats with pick 43 in last year’s National Draft, has been named on an extended bench, but has been confirmed as playing against the Bombers.
Port Adelaide recruit Jasmin Stewart and pre-season signing Annie Lee are also in contention to pull on the Hoops for the first time.
Veteran Kate Surman and young defender Sienna Tallariti, who are yet to appear at AFLW level this season, have been named in the squad.
Geelong VFLW duo Mekah Morrissy and Simone Nalder have been included as top-ups to help Geelong lodge a 24-player squad.
Nalder, 36, played 22 matches for St Kilda across three seasons before being delisted at the end of 2024.
Morrissy, a graduate of the Geelong Falcons, is no stranger to being a top-up emergency, serving in the same role for Melbourne in a match last year.
