GEELONG’s thinning injury list will shed two more players this weekend, with Lachie Fogarty and Jed Bews to return via Sunday’s VFL clash with North Melbourne at Avalon Airport Oval.

The pair hasn’t appeared at any level this year, with Fogarty, who made 15 AFL appearances last year, working his way back from off-season hip surgery after groin issues brought a premature end to his 2018 season.

While Bews, who underwent shoulder surgery in September, has most recently been battling osteitis pubis.

“Gradually we’re getting a few of those guys back after Scott Selwood and Lachie Henderson played some footy for us on the weekend,” coach Chris Scot said.

CATS: LATE CALL TO BE MADE ON DANGER

In more good news for the Cats, young big men Esava Ratugolea and Nathan Krueger are both a chance to be right to play this weekend after suffering head knocks.

Ratugolea, who has played every game at AFL level in 2019, was taken to hospital after the win over Essendon, while Krueger was hurt in an accidental collision in the VFL.

“It looks as if they’ve both pulled up well,” Scott said.

“We’re not in a position to talk about their availability, but they certainly haven’t been ruled out. So, that’s a positive.

“Esava was taken to hospital just to be monitored, but it was very reassuring that they didn’t even see the need to hold him for too long or to do any scans.

“So, that’s a good sign.”
