GEELONG has had its second AFLW season cut short by the decision to immediately start the 2020 finals series.
The Cats still had matches against the GWS Giants and Collingwood remaining but would have needed to win both to snatch a top-three finish in Conference A.
A disappointing way to end our @catswomens season. Thanks to our fans and players for the year that was.
One thing is for certain – we'll be back bigger and better next time.#HerStoryOurFuture #WeAreGeelong pic.twitter.com/FhDcTq1mtL

What the make-up of the AFLW finals looks like will be decided on Thursday.
However, with Geelong sitting fifth in Conference A, they won’t be replicating their finals appearance of 2019.
