EXPERIENCED defender Rebecca Goring has been squeezed out of the final Geelong team for Sunday’s clash with the Brisbane Lions at GMHBA Stadium.

Goring, who captained the Cats in their AFLW debut match against Collingwood last year, has been left out of the side with coach Paul Hood preferring young ruck Rene Caris.

It’s the only change made to the Geelong line-up following last week’s 16-point loss to Fremantle.

AFLW: CATS TO KEEP CORRIDOR ATTACK

The Cats struggled to get the ball inside 50, registering just 13 for the match compared to the Dockers’ 48.

“I think we overused the footy a bit; the handball count was plus-40,” star midfielder Rocky Cranston said.

“Maybe (we) need to kick out of congestion a bit more and that should get us a few better looks.”
